The ‘Masterpieces by Daterra’ auction, hosted by M-Cultivo, is an annual event that features small, exclusive lots that highlight Daterra’s experimental and high-quality coffee production from the most recent harvest. The auction draws attention to unique cultivars and processing methods, giving coffee buyers and enthusiasts access to some of the most carefully crafted Brazilian coffees available.

This new auction partnership with Nucleus Coffee Tools enhances this experience, by ensuring the evaluation process meets the highest standards of accuracy. With Nucleus’s support, the samples from the Masterpieces by Daterra auction are able to be prepared with the utmost precision, allowing buyers to trust that what they bid for has been assessed using the most advanced tools available. Auction profile packs

The LINK sample roasterallows coffee professionals to assess small batches accurately, making it ideal for auction settings where even the smallest nuance can define a coffee’s value. The roaster’s advanced design ensures the full expression of a coffee’s profile, which is crucial for an event like the ‘Masterpieces by Daterra’, where top lots are auctioned to a discerning audience of international buyers.

In preparation for the auction – which goes live on November 19, 2024 – the Nucleus Coffee Tools team has prepared a range of customised roast profiles for each auction sample. These roast profiles are divided into both batch size, and the expression of the coffee (‘sweetness and process’, or ‘vibrancy and varietal’).

“We’ve designed these profiles to not only provide the best expression of each coffee, but so that the user can tailor them to their preference,” say Sam.

“It’s important to us to make the preparation of these samples as easy as possible – however, we want to ensure that potential buyers are able to enjoy the coffees in a way that suits their palate and preference for themselves and their market.”

With these profiles, those who have purchased the auction sample packs simply have to enter the profile into a LINK roaster in order to enjoy these special lots, curated by the Daterra team from the most recent harvest.

All prospective bidders for the Masterpieces by Daterra auction are able to order samples boxes, containing the coffee samples. A link to the roast profiles, a tutorial video and a data sheet will be provided alongside the samples, and can be easily uploaded onto a LINK roaster.

These roast profiles and their data are also available to any and all LINK users, via the Nucleus Coffee Tools website or YouTube channel.
