Bombora Supplies and Nucleus Coffee Tools announce North America Roastshow tour

Bombora Coffee + Water Supplies and Nucleus Coffee Tools have announced a ‘Roastshow’ tour across North America, with nine stops across Canada and the USA. 

This tour will see members of both companies travel across multiple states and cities in North America, providing a comprehensive overview of the LINK sample roaster and its features.

Hosted by renowned local coffee businesses, each stop on the North America RoastShow will provide hands-on experience with the LINK roast, competition coffees, and provide a preview of the upcoming NCD Pulse tool.

A collaborative tour

Bombora Coffee + Water Supplies and Nucleus Coffee Tools have had a long-standing partnership, extending back to the release of our first coffee tool, the Nucleus Coffee Distributor (NCD), formerly the ‘OCD’.

Since Nucleus Coffee Tools was founded, both businesses have worked closely together to improve the distribution and accessibility to coffee tools across a number of regions, including Australasia and North America.

The ‘North America Roastshow’ will see key members of both teams – James Shepherd of Bombora Coffee + Water Supplies, and Jerome Rosler of Nucleus Coffee Tools – host a series of hands-on workshops tailored for coffee industry professionals and enthusiasts.

The tour will be hosted at a number of partner venues in different cities, including Vancouver, Portland, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Austin, Dallas, Denver, Durham and Minneapolis. Each venue will host between 20 and 40 attendees, all of whom will have an opportunity to learn more about and experience the LINK roaster.

New updates to the LINK

One of the central focuses of the Roastshow workshops will be demonstrations and explanations of the latest firmware and software releases for the LINK sample roaster, Addis 4.1. 

Released in late August 2024, this new update encompasses a range of new features and capabilities for the LINK roaster firmware, including more than 850+ pre-loaded roasting profiles, improvements to fan adjustments and operation during roasting, and much more.

In addition, the software components of the LINK roasting system – including the LINK App and LINK Studio – have seen new improvements and additions, such as an AI-driven Virtual Roast Assistant, improved functionality for user experience, and more options for customisation.

“One of the central tenets of our work is not only making sample roasting of higher quality, but for the best technology to be easily accessible to users of all experience levels,” says Jerome.

“This latest update represents the culmination of months and years of work, to make sample roasting easier, more intuitive and to have the best result possible for each individual coffee. We’re really excited to share it with coffee lovers across Canada and the United States.”

Preview of the NCD Pulse

The Roastshow tour will also provide a preview of Nucleus Coffee Tools’ latest product, the NCD Pulse. 

Having first been unveiled at the World of Coffee show in Busan, South Korea in May 2024, this coffee distribution tool uses ‘Pulse Vibration’ technology combined with the NCD’s patented propeller system to ensure even coffee distribution when preparing espresso.

Due for release in late 2024, the demonstrations of the NCD Pulse on the Roastshow tour will provide the first look and hands-on experience of the NCD Pulse in North America.
